Trip Overview

Whitetail Heaven Outfitters brings their 20+ years of experience and reputation as one of the country’s premier outfitters to the heart of Kansas for world-class duck and goose hunting. With operations spanning multiple states and tens of thousands of acres under management, Whitetail Heaven is known for consistently putting hunters in the right places at the right times—and their Kansas waterfowl program is no exception. These hunts take place across 20,000 acres of carefully managed ground in South Central and Southeast Kansas, near Medicine Lodge, in some of the most productive waterfowl country in the region.

Kansas is blessed with an abundance of ducks and geese, many of which winter in the area, creating outstanding hunting throughout the season. Hunts are strategically planned based on weather and migration patterns, with mornings typically spent hunting the edges of water holes over decoy spreads for ducks, and afternoons focused on field hunts for geese (season and bird movement dependent). You’ll hunt from comfortable layouts or A-frames depending on conditions, giving you a versatile and effective approach throughout the day. Species commonly encountered include Pintails, Mallards, Widgeon, Goldeneye, Ringnecks, Mergansers, Canvasbacks, Redheads, Wood Ducks, Greenwing Teal, Bluewing Teal, Gadwalls, Buffleheads, and more—making this a true mixed-bag Kansas waterfowl experience.

Kansas waterfowl season begins with a special early teal season in mid-September, which provides a short but exciting opportunity to target blue-winged and green-winged teal during their early migration. The regular duck season follows later in the fall and varies by zone across the state, generally opening from mid-October through early November depending on the zone, and running in split segments through late December and into late January. These staggered seasons allow hunters across the High Plains and Low Plains regions to hunt different phases of the migration as birds move through Kansas’ rivers, wetlands, and agricultural feeding areas.

With thousands of acres, tons of productive water holes, and expert guides who understand how to adapt to changing conditions, Whitetail Heaven delivers a high-opportunity, high-quality hunt designed for both serious waterfowlers and groups looking for a memorable, well-run trip. Whether you’re chasing teal early or targeting ducks and geese during the heart of the season, this is a Kansas waterfowl hunt built around preparation, experience, and results.
