Golden Triangle Whitetails offers outstanding opportunities during the pre-rut phase of the Illinois whitetail season (OCT 17-21), when mature bucks begin expanding their range and increasing daylight movement. This period is known for consistent buck activity as deer transition from early-season feeding patterns into early rut behavior.
Hunters will pursue mature bucks across 14,000 acres and 600 stand locations of managed Illinois hunting ground in Pike, Brown, Adams, and Schuyler Counties. These farms feature a proven mix of hardwood timber, CRP, agricultural fields, and strategically planted food plots that help concentrate deer movement throughout the fall.
Each hunt provides five full days of archery hunting, with professional guides placing hunters in carefully selected stand locations based on wind direction, deer movement, and seasonal patterns. With controlled hunting pressure and strict management practices, the pre-rut offers an excellent opportunity to encounter mature Illinois whitetails.
Over the past 11 years alone, Golden Triangle Whitetails hunters have harvested hundreds of bucks scoring over 150 inches, including 91 Boone & Crockett whitetails. These results are a direct reflection of the strict land management, low hunting pressure, and carefully managed habitat that consistently produce opportunities at truly mature Illinois bucks.

• If a deer is hit and blood is drawn but the deer is not recovered, the hunt is considered complete.
• Non-hunting guests may be allowed with an additional daily fee.
