Trip Overview

Pursue trophy New Mexico mule deer on a fully guided 5-day public land archery hunt with Rancho Rojo Guides & Outfitters. These hunts take place in renowned mule deer units 2A, 2B, 5A, and 5B, areas known for outstanding genetics, quality deer management, and the potential to produce mature bucks exceeding 180 inches, with occasional opportunities at even larger deer.

Hunting is conducted primarily through spot-and-stalk methods, utilizing extensive glassing from high points before making a stalk on a targeted buck. Terrain ranges from easy to moderate with excellent access and elevations generally ranging from 6,500 to 7,500 feet.

These are New Mexico draw hunts. Applications are typically due in mid-March, with draw results generally released in late April. Rancho Rojo can assist hunters with the New Mexico Outfitter Draw application process.

  • New Mexico draw applications are typically due in mid-March, with results released in late April.

  • Rancho Rojo can assist hunters with the Outfitter Draw application process and future draw planning.

  • Hunting licenses, draw fees, taxes, and applicable state fees are not included.

  • Caping, meat processing, and taxidermy services are not included.

  • Trophy retrieval from the field is included.

  • Guide gratuities are customary and appreciated.

  • Hunters must comply with all New Mexico hunting regulations and outfitter policies.
