Trip Overview

Finish the season chasing Iowa giants on Monster Whitetail Outfitters' fully guided 4-day Late Muzzleloader Hunt. Hunters may choose any four consecutive days between December 27 and January 10 on approximately 11,700 acres of carefully managed free-range private land in renowned Iowa Zone 5.

Late-season conditions often create some of the most predictable deer movement of the year as mature bucks concentrate around late-season food sources following the rut. Combined with cold weather, low hunting pressure, and carefully managed properties, hunters have an excellent opportunity to encounter trophy-class Iowa whitetails.

Monster Whitetail Outfitters has earned a reputation as one of the Midwest's premier free-range whitetail operations by maintaining low hunter density, implementing strict harvest standards, utilizing extensive trail camera programs, and allowing bucks to reach maturity. Hunters pursue free-range whitetails from Millennium ladder stands, hang-on stands, and enclosed 360 blinds positioned around prime late-season feeding areas and travel corridors.

Iowa properties are carefully managed with a 140-inch gross minimum on most farms, while premier properties carry a 150-inch minimum (140-inch minimum on qualifying 8-pointers). Bucks harvested below the property's minimum score are subject to a graduated penalty of $200 per inch below the minimum, up to a maximum of $1,200, helping preserve exceptional trophy quality.

Application & Draw Notice: Iowa Late Muzzleloader hunts are subject to the Iowa nonresident deer application and draw process. Hunters must successfully draw a valid Iowa Late Muzzleloader tag before participating in the hunt. Please consult the Iowa DNR for current application deadlines and preference point requirements, or contact Monster Whitetail Outfitters for assistance with the application process.

Reserve your future Iowa hunt with confidence. Because Iowa nonresident tags are awarded through a preference point draw, many hunters book their hunt years in advance while building the points needed to draw. By placing your deposit, you'll lock in your hunt price at today's rate, protecting you from future price increases while you wait to draw your tag. Once your tag is drawn, you'll return to hunt at the rate you originally secured.
