Trip Overview
Trip Description
Spend roughly three hours hunting ring-necked pheasants across Rapid Rooster’s 3,000-acre private ranch just north of Rapid City. Every hunt includes an experienced guide and at least one bird dog to work the ranch’s standing corn and upland cover, and hunters are welcome to bring their own dogs. You choose how many pheasants are released before the hunt, with a 15-bird minimum, and there is no additional charge for birds harvested. Wild sharp-tailed grouse may also be hunted when encountered, along with available partridge and chukar opportunities.
Why Hunt With Us
Rapid Rooster combines the convenience of being only about 20 minutes from downtown Rapid City with the experience of hunting a large private South Dakota ranch. As a state-approved pheasant preserve, the season stretches from September through March, giving hunters significantly more flexibility than a traditional upland season. Every hunt includes a guide, bird dog, bird cleaning, and access to 3,000 private acres, while the neighboring Pete Lien Sports Shooting Complex provides additional shooting opportunities before or after your hunt.
