Waypoint Outfitters
Trout Creek, Montana

About the Guide
Waypoint Outfitters operates on over 1.5 million acres of rugged public land in Northwest Montana, offering authentic Western hunting experiences in some of the most scenic and least-pressured territory in the lower 48. Based out of a fully equipped lodge in a town of just 300 people, this operation delivers a high-quality, low-impact hunt where solitude, scenery, and success intersect. Their team of experienced guides and backcountry houndsmen brings generations of local knowledge to every hunt, combining tradition with modern logistics to maximize each client’s opportunity.
Specializing in elk, mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, Merriam turkey, and even specialty moose and sheep hunts, Waypoint Outfitters builds each trip around the skill, goals, and condition of the hunter. Archery and rifle hunts are available, and each trip includes lodging, meals, laundry, expert guide support, and game packing. Whether hiking five to ten miles per day from a trailhead or opting for a remote backcountry spike camp, every hunt is a physical and mental challenge built around honest opportunity. They also offer free youth hunts with a paid adult, as well as bonus incentives for harvesting wolves and return trips.
What sets Waypoint apart is its commitment to transparency, accessibility, and conservation. With an “honest opportunity” success metric and flexible terrain to match any physical level, they ensure that every hunter leaves with something more than just a tag—memories made in true wilderness, guided by those who live it every day. Whether you're chasing a trophy or the experience itself, Waypoint's blend of real hunting, real effort, and authentic hospitality makes it more than just a trip—it’s an adventure.
